Exercise
we all know that exercise is very important. Not just for losing weight but becoming an overall healthy and more physically fit being. I have recently started to work out a lot more than I used too, and cut out things that are just straight up terrible for you ( fast foods being number 1). Anyone who knows me well knows I love fast food, it's been a struggle but I'm slowly eliminating it all. but back to exercise, having sickle cell I have always gotten tired very easily. Once, using the eliptical even threw me into a crisis! So I usually didn't do much physical activity, but now I make sure I do things in moderation and stop when my body tells me too. Exercising gives you such a boost of confidence and really lifts your mood! So try to get out and do something everyday, even on demand has workout videos. But remember listen you your body, it knows best!

Starting New
So i have decided to turn this 'Sickle Cell blog' into more of a " living with Sickle Cell Blog" Of course, I am still going to talk about the disease, but also day to day things. You can expect to see Recipes, DIY, Inspiration, and what ever else i feel important to share with you guys! This year has been incredibly crazy for me so far, but in a good way it is pushing me to realize things and to grow up! I recently left the University I was at because it was not at all what i wanted and i decided I wanted to switch my major. Now i am on a "semester off" but now really i have been working hard in a lot of other ways ( which will be shared in later posts) I start a 3 month nail technician program in April ( putting my creative mind to work in a different way) and in August i will be going back to School on my Journey of becoming an educator. Its been a crazy couple of months but, I am happy I am on the path I am on. I am happy to be sharing this journey and will continue to document, and to share more information on lots of different things with you all. This year it has been one of my resolutions to become seriously dedicated to my blog.
Thank you all and i wish you Great health, and Great Luck this Year.
Remain Blessed,

Update
I have been feeling a little down today, my back and stomach have been hurting me. I know it's because I have been stressed out and having really bad anxiety lately but I have been taking my hydroxyurea everyday. I hope it dosent get any worse, but we will see what happens. Just thought I would update on how I have been feeling.

Clean living
So I have been really inspired to eat clean lately. It makes you feel light, and improves you're over all health one of my first steps is to drink lemon water everyday. I seen this post from a page called sicklecell101 on Instagram it shows you all of the benefits of drinking lemon water. I hope you decide to chose cleaner choices and start drinking lemon water as well (:

Taking a Stand!
I went to bed with my back hurting last night, i took meds cuddled up and prayed to god that it would feel better in the morning. In the morning, the pain was gone but their was still stiffness. I got up and did my morning routine, ate breakfast and checked Instagram. As i did i seen a fellow Sickle Cell warrior was in pain, she was ranting about how much she hates the pain and having to go to the ER. My stomach dropped, i know the feeling. It put me down thinking that all my life i can get in pain for anything at any time, it could be my wedding day, the first day of a new job any big milestone in my life i could be in pain. I was crying my eyes out and texting my mother about how i was feeling and not even a minute later a song blurted out from Good Morning America, Overcomer by Mandisa. The song spoke to me and so did the video which i will include in this post. The video showed many people Robin Roberts, Gabby Gifford, Captain Mark Kelly and Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton. All of these great people in the video suffered a devastating injury or had to fight a life-threatening illness. They overcame their illness, they are strong, ad they are still fighting the good fight today.
Sickle Cell is not a disease that you can get rid of like some of the people in the video but we still can overcome. One thing i want to overcome is being afraid of telling people about my Disease, and downplaying and saying it is "no big deal" but it is a big deal. We need to let the whole world know how much of a big deal sickle cell disease is! I am taking a stand, I am on a mission, I no longer want to suffer in silence. As i am writing this to you in stomach and back pain, I want the world to know and be knowledgeable about Sickle Cell just as much as they are with Cancer. We are fighting everyday, just as bad as all of these better known diseases. Lets spread the word of Sickle Cell. Knowledge is Power and us Sickle Cell Warriors have all the power.
Stay tuned for more
Morgan.
