grrr….
I told you guys spring is not for me.. I have been feeling pretty bad lately and I am home from work ( have been since yesterday). I have an appointment with my Hematologist tomorrow to see what has been going on, I usually do not get sick this often while taking my Hyrdoxyurea as I am supposed to. We are hoping that the medicine is still working for me cause if not I have to start looking for Alternative ways to manage my SCD. I am still searching but will definitely post alternatives, and if anyone has suggestions for me please share!! I will also let you know what happens at my appointment tomorrow.

Gearing Up
So it is that time of the year again, Season Change. The snowy days will now turn to… rainy lol. Its almost spring time! I like the idea of spring time but spring is always the time that I get sick most, its the whole 60 degrees today 30 degrees tomorrow thing that keeps happening. The weather change put me out cold this weekend, I had to leave work early Friday and called out yesterday. I went in today but still am in mild pain ( but i am trying to pace myself… promise). ANYWAY.. back to the main point! With Sickle Cell as you get older you start to get to know your sickness better, and everyone is unique in a certain way. You know the things that trigger you and where your pain may be, you also know the things that can help you to keep moving. With the knowledge that the spring season is not the best time for me I have to prepare myself, mentally, physically, emotionally.
1. DRINK WATER ( AS ALWAYS) - I am also limiting my soda, and sugary drink intake.
2. GET SLEEP - they say 8-10 hours… I'm trying to stay in that range
3. EAT HEALTHY- well i already gave up fast food for " lent ".. so staying away from the chip aisle in the grocery store.
4. RID OF UNNECESSARY STRESS - everyone has different ways they rid of stress.. mine is TV, and drawing makes me forget about the whole world.
5. KNOW YOUR LIMITS- I am aware I can not do EVERYTHING, I need to think for myself and my health.
Well, thats all for now…
hope you have a great night.

Exercise
we all know that exercise is very important. Not just for losing weight but becoming an overall healthy and more physically fit being. I have recently started to work out a lot more than I used too, and cut out things that are just straight up terrible for you ( fast foods being number 1). Anyone who knows me well knows I love fast food, it's been a struggle but I'm slowly eliminating it all. but back to exercise, having sickle cell I have always gotten tired very easily. Once, using the eliptical even threw me into a crisis! So I usually didn't do much physical activity, but now I make sure I do things in moderation and stop when my body tells me too. Exercising gives you such a boost of confidence and really lifts your mood! So try to get out and do something everyday, even on demand has workout videos. But remember listen you your body, it knows best!

Starting New
So i have decided to turn this 'Sickle Cell blog' into more of a " living with Sickle Cell Blog" Of course, I am still going to talk about the disease, but also day to day things. You can expect to see Recipes, DIY, Inspiration, and what ever else i feel important to share with you guys! This year has been incredibly crazy for me so far, but in a good way it is pushing me to realize things and to grow up! I recently left the University I was at because it was not at all what i wanted and i decided I wanted to switch my major. Now i am on a "semester off" but now really i have been working hard in a lot of other ways ( which will be shared in later posts) I start a 3 month nail technician program in April ( putting my creative mind to work in a different way) and in August i will be going back to School on my Journey of becoming an educator. Its been a crazy couple of months but, I am happy I am on the path I am on. I am happy to be sharing this journey and will continue to document, and to share more information on lots of different things with you all. This year it has been one of my resolutions to become seriously dedicated to my blog.
Thank you all and i wish you Great health, and Great Luck this Year.
Remain Blessed,

Update
I have been feeling a little down today, my back and stomach have been hurting me. I know it's because I have been stressed out and having really bad anxiety lately but I have been taking my hydroxyurea everyday. I hope it dosent get any worse, but we will see what happens. Just thought I would update on how I have been feeling.
