A Little About ME!

I wanted to do this post just to give everyone a little insight on my life and my mission!


  1. I am 19 years old, born June 26, 1995 @ 11:59 a.m
  2. I have Sickle Cell SS
  3. I'm a second semester student at Rutgers - Camden, majoring in Health Sciences
  4. I have changed my mind from being a scientist, marine biologist, zookeeper, fashion designer, teacher and now I am torn on becoming a Physician Assistant or a Hematologist. 
  5. I'm very sensitive, and cry over everything but only my family and about 2 friends have seen that side of me. 
  6. I am a HOMEBODY, I do not like being away from home for long periods of time.
  7. I take Hydroxyurea, and Folic Acid daily to control my Sickle Cell. 
  8. I have 4 tattoos, 2 dedicated to Sickle Cell. 
  9. I am an old soul, I get along WAY better with people older than me. 
  10. I really want dreadlocks, but change my mind too much.
  11. People love my laugh but its sort of obnoxious. 
  12. I want to reach out and have more friends with Sickle Cell but I feel to shy sometimes to speak up. 
  13. I have only recently become comfortable with telling people that I have Sickle Cell. 
  14. I am just really starting to love and be comfortable with ME.
  15. I want to start an organization to help teens with Sickle Cell get through their teen/young adult years smoothly. (counseling, job placement, college help etc.)
  16. I spend all of my money on food and clothes, I am trying to learn how to save better.
  17. I love to read, and watch TV. These have both been my coping mechanism when I do not feel well. 
  18. I have a doll "Pinky" who I've had since I was born and I NEED her when I am sad or in pain.
  19. I want to make a change in this world… I want to get Sickle Cell the exposure it deserves… I want to be comfortable.
These are only a few facts about me out of so many things, as this blog goes on I hope I can learn more about my community of readers and you all can learn more about me!
